Michael Schott Wellness
Here to help you clear limitations and move freely.
As a practitioner, it is my goal to help dissolve discomfort and
transform your relationship with pain.
Pain is secondary to muscular weakness – by reactivating neurological elements of our muscular system with an innovative manual therapy treatment, we give the body greater capability to operate and move freely.
Muscle Activation Techniques, or MAT, is a noninvasive treatment process which systematically eliminates pain, joint instability, and muscle tightness or compensation arising from muscle weakness. The MAT process reactivates weak and injured muscles with precision manual therapy and corrective isometric exercises, using an extensive system of checks and balances to assess and meet your body’s needs.
Michael is a certified MAT Specialist, currently practicing in the New York City and Hudson Valley areas.
The world we live in is one of vibrations and frequencies. Sound has such a large effect on our state of being — mental, emotional, physical. Tuning forks are instruments tuned to specific frequencies. They have a strong power to reset our state of being, which clients generally experience as relaxing, peaceful, and healing.
Michael incorporates sound into his sessions as sees fit, usually as a means to integrate the physical work of MAT. He will work with anyone’s desires for more or less vibration in a session.
How clients feel after a session
Michael Schott is a kind and sensitive practitioner of MAT. His gentle, encouraging, and professional manner builds trust. He listens, with his mind and with his hands, and then applies his years of training in rhythms, sound therapy, and anatomy to the client he is treating in order to restore strength, balance, and self-confidence.

Michael has a great ability to help you learn about your body and the different muscles responsible for moving different limbs. He helped me bring awareness to muscles that are tight and feel inaccessible and difficult to isolate for self-stretching or massage. It is a gentle way to identify weak points and begin the strengthening process.
